What is Hospice?
Hospice (hospes) is a home or hospital which delivers palliative care or treatment, physical, psychosocial and spiritual, to those at the end of life, patients battling illnesses, cancer patients and the elderly.
Local Hospice. Such simple words. But they mean everything for thousands of people: patients and their families facing the problem associated with life-threatening illness and requiring constant medical care and impeccable assessment of pain and other problems.
Cancer, HIV/AIDS and diseases of the elderly these are diagnoses threatening life. How can one behave in such situation? The only worthy decision is Hospice.
Hospice care is an approach based on the prevention and relief of suffering, philanthropic care, humane attitude towards the patients with life-threatening illness. Hospice is not-for-profit organization with no aim for commercial purposes and monetary profit. And help offered by hospice is absolutely free.
The goal of Volgograd Hospice is to raise public awareness of the quality of a patient's last days and to arouse its kindness and mercifulness.
In order to succeed in establishing the Local Hospice in hospital #18, Dzerzhinskiy district, Volgograd, we will need your help as much as possible. Get involved with the Local Hospital Project by participating in fundraising efforts and helping with activities or volunteering for events! We will appreciate any help.
Volgograd & Kamyshin Metropolitan Herman gave his blessing to the hospice foundation. Father Georgiy, the beneficiary of "All Saints" Church on Mamai hill, is a counselor of the project.
